Vegans are sometimes cruelly accused of having more consideration for animals than for humans, but those who try to live according to the ethics of true vegetarianism/Veganism will show respect and consideration for all things, this very point is what I try to address in my songs. Over 20 years ago I was part of a regionally successful Duo called ( "Rooster" ) since that time a band has taken up that name. I worked semi professionally with fellow musician and songwriter Paul Mason for some years and we penned about 50 songs together, later I packed in music to concentrate on other things. I had also given up writing songs and had'nt really picked up my old guitar for 20 years, then I heard that these charities were in need of help to publicize their needs, I was approached and asked if I would write some songs for them, and I have been busy in this field since. I am again working semi professionally in order to earn cash to live, this time under my stage name George Sequoia and I still find it stimulating singing to a live audience.
Some of these songs have been written for charities and have had good success in raising funds at Charity events to alleviate suffering, and to highlight the needs of humans and animals. Some of the songs have be featured on BBC Radio and Signal radio and other stations.

This song was written after I came past a farm one day where thousands of creatures live short miserable captive lives in batteries and tiny pens, most of whom will have never seen the light of day, until the time they are taken to the slaughterhouse that is!. Animals have for thousands of years been used and abused by humans, now mankind is starting to realize that these creatures are not just meat on legs to be reared in their millions just to fill the human stomach, a growing number of humans are changing their views and now look upon them as fellow beings along life's way, I like to think that my songs contribute to the welfare and benefit of these glorious fellow species. There is a great deal of talent out there among Vegetarians and Vegans and it would be good to see much more songwriting in behalf of our animal brothers come onto the scene and grow in popularity.

Religion continues to be a very powerful influence in the world and still controls the lives of millions of people, I have found the religious justify the killing of other creatures without questioning the necessity. I was so fed up one day following a conversation with a religious person that was just so hard and callous that it caused me put pen to paper and I decided write to expose such injustice of animals at the hands of misguided religion.

Image above right: The Lord Mayor of Stoke-on-Trent, and also heart surgeon Mr Abid.
The song was composed as I thought of the great stars that we have enjoyed so much over the years, yet whose live were cut short and who lost to heart disease, such as Elvis Presley - Roy Orbison - Edwin Starr - Robert Palmer - Desmond Decker and Wilson Picket to name just a few."Keep Singing A Song" charts the life of a fictional American blues and soul singer called “ Frankie” who battles on with a heart problem while touring the nightclubs all the way down to Monterey, California, and who is determined to entertain the crowds who love to hear his music .
As with any serious illness such as heart disease it is absolutely vital to try to help people keep a positive frame of mind, so I wrote the song in a kind of upbeat Jive-Swing to cheer up the sick.
As always there is a need for medical skills to advance in behalf of mankind however this should not be at the expense of another’s suffering, we now have the technology o discover other skills and drugs without Vivisection, lets use it.
(Angel in Disguise! ): Press > http://ulove.org.uk/doc/Angel.mp3

I sat down and wrote this song after hearing a true but tragic story of one persons life, love, and loss following theof them being diagnosed with a potentially painful terminal illness. I believe that
no one should ever have to face the tragedy of a serious illness alone, however a terminally ill partner experiencing such an immense mental and emotional crisis can often be a challenge to live with. In the song the persons spouse eventually walked away unable to cope with the turmoil, thankfully caring friends came to the rescue and comforted and strengthened this person to face the ordeal. As time went by the pain had increased so much that specialized nursing care was vital, and the term Overload in the chorus refers to the increasing morphine dose given to help numb the pain. Everyone at sometime in there life has an opportunity to be like an Angel in Disguise and come to someone’s aid at there time of personal crisis, and in this work the Hospice Nurses, Volunteers and Supporters are all setting a wonderful example. I donate every penny from the sale of this song to the Douglas Macmillan hospice to help alleviate peoples suffering and help to fund more of the specialized nursing care that is so urgently needed.

(Help the Children in Need ) : Press > http://ulove.org.uk/doc/Children.wma

This song helped raise a good deal of money for the Children in Need appeal in the Midlands of Great Britain, but as with all fundraising this does not come without a lot of hard work to all those involved our respect and appreciation goes ous to the multitudes of people who were a part of this appeal.
The BBC and Radio Stoke encourages as many as possbile to join in raising funds for this very worthy charity, and with the proceeds they distrubute money and resources to the very needy and abused children within our communities.
In our area kind people from all walks of life helped raise cash for needy youngsters by sponsoring friends in their efforts to help children in whatever way they could.
